Weather Make-Up Days - Update 3/19/2014
Three instructional days were missed in February due to inclement weather conditions. The first weather make-up day will be this Friday, March 21st for all students and staff. The remaining two make-up days are being waived by the administration, based on the state law approved by Governor Haley last week. Please mark your calendars accordingly.

Nation Ford News

 The Nation Ford High School Journalism Department won 10 awards at the South Carolina Scholastic Press Association (SCSPA) Spring Conference at USC-Columbia on Tuesday.

Peter Kamel won first in the state for Advertising Design.
Caroline Welch won first place in the state for News Feature Writing.
The NAFO News won an Honor rating.
NAFO Journalism Online won a Merit rating.
Hannah Laney won second in the state in the photography contest.
The Talon newspaper earned the Most Improved Newspaper Award and a Superior rating.
The Talon staff won a scholarship to the Carolina Journalism Institute, a summer program for student journalists.
Adviser Chuck Walker was named 2014 recipient of the Reid H. Montgomery Adviser of the Year award, for his high standard of excellence in service to scholastic journalism.
Principal Beverley Bowman was named the 2014 recipient of the Albert T. Scroggins Award, for her outstanding contributions to scholastic journalism.
Ten students from Nation Ford attended the conference.
Nation Ford High School sponsors five publications: yearbook, newspaper, literary magazine, online newspaper, and a television broadcast.

Important cafeteria end of year information
Please clear all negative balances on your student`s Cafeteria account. Students accounts will not be allowed to go negative after May 9th. A substitute meal will be served to the student if the funds are not available. 

The online payments system, My Payments Plus, will be closed out for the year on May 16th. Parents will no longer be able to add money to their online accounts. All automated payments will need to be stopped as well. Payments will need to be made through the school Cafe by cash or check. A phone number and the student`s lunch number MUST be on each check.

Refunds/Transfer request forms are available on the district website for graduating students as well as those moving out of the district. The same form will be used to transfer the balance to a sibling`s account. These request must be submitted by June 9th.

Congratulations to the NFHS Band for their memorable performance at Pearl Harbor Friday, April 11th. Great job, Martin, and especially thankful to all the chaperones for all of their hard work!!

Future Business Leaders of America traveled to N. Charleston for the State Leadership Conference last weekend. 


Zack Lutz and Stephanie Cavanaugh from Digital Art and Design level 2, won the South Carolina National School Public Relations Association Award for creating the design for the 2013 Comprehensive Annual Report for the Fort Mill School District.


The Nation Ford High School Digital Art and Design program was involved in a mascot design competition between Fort Mill High School Graphic Communications and Nation Ford High School Digital Art and Design led by Joe McConkey. Read more...

Applications are found at the following link and are available at the JROTC Classroom and must be completed and returned by Friday, 25 April 2014.
